Reflection
Technology provided me with inspiration for this Monster Project in a few ways.  One way was through Pinterest.  On Pinterest, we had the ability to look at professional artists’ work and see how they manipulated different elements of monsters to make them appear cute.  For example, I saw many monsters with big eyes.  After seeing how their technique of “big eyes” worked so efficiently, I decided to give my monster big eyes.  Another reason technology provided me with inspiration was when we had the “walk around”.  Since all of our projects are on computers, it made it easy to walk around and see other people’s ideas.  Other people’s projects gave me inspiration for little details that I added to my project.

If the computers we used didn’t exist, it would be much harder to create this project.  For example, since we would not have access to Pinterest, I would have to get my inspiration from art pieces in a museum.  Or, I would have to think up a cute monster by myself, with no inspiration.  Also, I would have to draw or paint my monster and his world because we wouldn’t have Adobe Illustrator to create the picture online.  This would most likely take more time, because you can’t copy shapes that you have previously made.

Similarly, to what I stated before,  when we had our “walk around”, I learned some techniques that made my project look a lot better than it did before.  I gained knowledge from other artists due to the computers where we created our projects.  One of the ideas I got from looking at other artists’ works was to change the shape of my trees.  Other people used more swirly lines to create the objects in their backgrounds, so I did that as well.  I also got the idea to add more modern elements to my piece.  I did this by creating the leaves and clouds out of circles.  Overall, my piece looked much better after learning from other people’s ideas.
